If you are an individual wanting to apply for a TIN for the purpose of employment the form you will be filling out will be the BIR Form 1902. Follow or click on the 1902 link and download the file. There is a portion in that form where your employer needs to fill-out and must be signed by its authorized representative. The documentary requirement or attachment for this form is a xerox copy of your birth certificate. You can submit this to the BIR Revenue District office where your employer is currently registered or where they are filing their taxes. You cannot submit this to any other BIR offices. If your employer is located in Pasig there is a BIR Revenue District office located in that area, whether your employer is located in other areas the BIR has an office who has jurisdiction over such area. Thats where you need to submit this application. You can check the BIR TIN Verification Office at 926-8339 this is their updated number or the BIR Contact center at 981-8888 or email contact_us@cctr.bir.gov.ph, just make sure you provide your full name, and birthdate. Make sure you to ask the personnel facilitating your application on when you can get your TIN or who you can call to verify the TIN that will be issued to you. Should you have any problems you can email hmp@bir.gov.ph or the email in this blog. For people who need a TIN for opening an account, applying for a drivers license, or any particular government transaction. You can use the BIR Form 1904. For more details on this i will post it on my next blog.
WHY IS IT THAT THE HEAD OF TAXPAYER SERVICE SECTION MA. HERMINIA PABITO OF BIR RD NO. 98 CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY IS NOT ISSUING TIN FOR THOSE UNEMPLOYED PARTICULARLY THOSE OPENING ACCOUNT OR BEING REQUIRED TO PRESENT TIN TO TRANSACT BUSINESS IN ANY GOVT OFFICE? THIS IS ALSO THE IDEA OF ASST RDO HONCULADA. I THINK THESE TWO OFFICERS ARE IGNORANT OF BIR LAWS THUS WHY THEY ARE BEING ALLOWED TO BE ASSIGNED IN THEIR POSITION IF THEY ARE NOT FAMILIAR OF THIS SIMPLE LAW. CALLING THE ATTENTION OF DIRECTOR ATTY TABULE WHO I BELIEVED THE SAME LEVEL OF IQ, ISNT IT? I AM HOPING THE NEW COMMISSIONER TAN TORRES SHALL LOOK INTO THIS….

Posted by birtaxinfo at December 15, 2009, 8:33 amIs there any way I could verify my tin number throughout the internet?
Posted by philip at January 13, 2010, 12:07 pmNo, that service is not yet available in the BIR website, but you can call 981-8888 the BIR contact center or the TIN Verification office of the BIR 981-7000 local 7030. They will need your complete name and birthdate to check if you have a TIN and the BIR RDO office where it is currently registered. Please take note that your TIN registration can only be updated only on the BIR RDO office where your TIN is registered. If you require a TIN ID it is with this BIR RDO office where you should file an application for that TIN ID.
Posted by birtaxinfo at January 13, 2010, 3:19 pmOur company has been deducting taxes for my salary for over 2 years already and they cannot provide me my TIN number. My W2 or ITR has no number as well. and when I ask them to provide they will say they dont know.
Posted by Anne at February 12, 2010, 5:04 pmAgain there is no policy that requires a company to apply for TIN for their employees. It depends if the company has informed you that they will do it for you. If not, it should be your concern to file for a TIN.
Your company is required by BIR to withheld and remit to BIR these taxes whether their employees have a TIN or not.
And they are also required to provide you with BIR form 2316 Certificate of Compensation Payment / Tax Withheld after each taxable year. For this will serve as the ITR of that employee if he/she has a single employer for the entire taxable year. W2 is the old form, the new form is BIR form 2316. Please note that the one certifying here is not the BIR but your office under penalties of perjury.
At dun kayo pumunta.
Padalhan kanya kamo ng isang Authorization Letter designating you to request for a TIN para sa kanya.
Posted by Meliza at April 21, 2010, 2:54 pmGood day! I would like to ask do I still need to apply for a new TIN for my employment if I already have acquired TIN previously which was used in my application of driver’s license?
Thanks in advance!
Posted by Salamat Po at April 24, 2010, 9:38 pmHi Meliza, you can ask thru the BIR TIN verification office or the BIR contact center. the telephone numbers are indicated in this article.
Posted by birtaxinfo at April 26, 2010, 3:37 pmAnother thing Meliza, banks have their own policy which the BIR does not dictate. including the requirements they need for the transactions or services their company provides. anyway, check the BIR for your TIN number. You probably have one.
Posted by birtaxinfo at April 26, 2010, 3:42 pmHi blksantos, No you don’t need to apply for another TIN. The TIN issued to you before can be used for employment. You got your TIN using BIR Form 1904 you can have your TIN Registration updated using BIR Form 2305 indicate for EMPLOYMENT.
Posted by birtaxinfo at April 26, 2010, 4:20 pmGood Day po sir Cholo,
Kasi by next month kelangan ko na po magrenew ng Drivers License and from what I heard kelangan na daw may TIN No. for renewal… Sa kasalukuyan po kasi walang TIN No. ang Drivers License ko and since unemployed pa po ako wala din ako tin no. talaga.
Ask ko lang po, since I know na dapat Form 1904 po ang kelangan ko i-fill up, mga gaano katagal po kaya before ako makakuha ng TIN No. ko, if let’s say nagapply ako today how long usually does it take para malaman ko ang TIN No. ko…
and TIN No. na lang po ba ang kailangan for Drivers License or kailangan pa po ng TIN ID? or are those one in the same?
Also another thing… Do I have to pay anything for that?
No, you don't need to pay for that those request. From your request for TIN using 1904 to your request for a TIN card. Please know BIR does not charge for this service.
Posted by birtaxinfo at May 31, 2010, 9:13 amAh ok po, pero kung hindi po barangay clearance but instead a government ID would that also be possible? Like PRC and LTO ID?
Thanks for the info!
Posted by James Diaz at May 31, 2010, 11:43 pmHi Sir,
Me TIN number na po ako from my previous work, pero wala pang ID. Umuwi nalang ako kasi di nama nila aasikasuhin.
Posted by Anne at June 1, 2010, 12:07 pmHi James D., if those IDs indicate your barangay address then they may consider those. The barangay clearance indicates clearly that your barangay is within a BIR District Ofc. jurisdiction. Anyway, I think it would be the BIR District ofc discretion whether to accept these IDs or not. The standard document being required is the barangay clearance. There is no official policy that i know of w/c states a substitute of the said document. Anyway, i suggest you go for the required doc. the brgy. clearance.
Posted by birtaxinfo at June 7, 2010, 9:18 amHello Anne, you don’t need a request from your employer because that TIN is not in anyway under them or under their jurisdiction. The TIN is UNDER YOUR NAME not with the company. The companies we work with may come and go but our TIN remains under our name. There may be some misunderstanding. You can request for a TIN Card using BIR Form 1905. check this form out. Click on the BIR FORMS link in the right side of this blog under INFORMATIVE LINKs. In Part II of this form check the box for letter “K” and write TIN CARD. To indicate you wish to request for this. Walang bayad po ito. Submit this with the BIR Revenue District Ofc. (RDO) where your TIN is currently registered. Call TIN Verification Office of BIR 926-8339 or the BIR Contact Center 981-8888. Check which RDO your TIN is currently under and ask for the address of that ofc. Submit your request for TIN card thru BIR form 1905 thats it.

Hi Hernan, you might want to call the BIR Contact Center to assist you in this matter. Their number is 981-8888.
Posted by Anne at June 11, 2010, 1:02 amHi Anne, lets clear things up a little bit. Is your TIN really under that district where you submitted the said form? dahil sabi mo na:
Sa 4E CHANGE IN REGISTERED ADDRESS. Check box “1″ TRANSFER OF HOME RDO. The OLD RDO is where you TIN IS CURRENTLY REGISTERED. Your New RDO is the RDO where you will be transferring your TIN. Usually the RDO who has jurisdiction over the business address of your new employer.
Ngayon ukol sa policy na new company kana hihingi kamo ng request to issue an ID.
Paki tawagan po ang BIR TIN Verification Office at 926-8339 this is their updated number or the BIR Contact center at 981-8888. Bigay ninyo ang TIN or pangalan at birthdate.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Posted by Ai at June 13, 2010, 4:40 pmHello Anne, Let me get your TIN number and I will talk with the Registration Section pertaining your concern once you give me these details. Give your full name and birthdate. I want to check if you have another TIN under your name.
Send me these info and I’ll call that RDO on the requirement that they are imposing. Again thank you for informing us of your concerns. I hope to clear these up once you give me these info. Good day.

Posted by Anne at June 16, 2010, 8:17 pmHi Anne, i've talked with the chief of the Taxpayer Service Section (TSS) of RDO43A.
You can fill out the 1905 form and ipasa mo na sa RDO43A para ma transfer na TIN mo.
Anyway, the chief of the TSS has relayed to me that he will inform the registration people to follow the RR 5-2010. You can view this Revenue Regulation by following the link below:
ftp://ftp.bir.gov.ph/webadmin1/pdf/51752RR%205-2010%20ON%20TRANSFER%20OF%20REGISTRATION.pdf
You can send me your TIN & full name with birthdate so I can send it to the TIN Verification ofc. or you can call them directly to verify it yourself. Their contact number is in this article.
Anyways, madali lang ang pagtransfer read this article to guide you thru, just follow the link:
http://birtaxinfo.i.ph/blogs/birtaxinfo/2010/03/02/transferring-bir-tin-registration/
Just inform me kung nagawa mo na o kung ano pa ang kelangan ninyong malaman. Good day.
Posted by birtaxinfo at June 17, 2010, 3:08 pmHi Sir,
Thanks,
Anne
Ok i checked and its still with RDO 43. It doesn't say whether your with RDO 43A or B so I guess its with that RDO if your with them.
But I guess this will no longer be a problem since your planning to transfer your TIN.
Ok file your application for transfer to another RDO thru 1905. I don't think you'll have a problem with this. I have also talked with TSS chief Mr. Rios regarding the issuance of TIN Card. They will abide by the RR 5-2010 policy.
Anyway, just submit your request for transfer using 1905. The transfer usually takes 2-3 days. So you can call the TIN Verification ofc. within that time. Their number is indicated in the article above.
Once you confirmed the transfer. You can pass your application for TIN Card with your New RDO using again BIR Form 1905. Do keep me posted on how it went. And i have corrected the link of RR 5-2010 in my previous comment. Sorry about that. Good day.
Posted by birtaxinfo at June 21, 2010, 3:50 pmMagandang araw po. ako po ay nalilito lang. last friday ay nagfile po ako ng 1905 sa north makati (rdo 49) to transfer my registration to east pasig (rdo 43-A). sabi after 5 days po. pero nabasa ko po dito na usually 2 to 3 days lang kaya sinubukan ko po tumawag sa mga numbers na pinost ninyo. On my first attempt, I called 981-8888 to check if ever natransfer na ba ung TIN ko. At first hiningi nga ung tin# ko tapos nahirapan ata xa hanapin sa system. Hindi daw niya makita sa ITS. I told him na thru them ko nga nverify kung sang rdo ako naka register at kung ano ung tin. then chineck nya uli. nakita na daw nya. kaso sa website lang daw nya nakita at wala sa “ITS”. Bakit po kaya gnun? Is that normal? What’s the difference dun sa ITS at sa sinasabi niyang sa website lang?
Tapos nag inquire ako sa kanya. Sinabi ko na ngrequest nga ako na itransfer sa rdo 43-a. then he advised me na hnd rin daw nila un nakikita sa ITS kaya magfile nalang daw ako ng 1902 at indicate ko nalang ung tin ko dun.. tama po ba ung advise saken? nalilito na po kasi talaga ako..
on my second attempt i tried to called 926-8339. She got my info instantly and advised me to w8 for it to be transfered.
Should I wait for 5 days to verify if my tin was successfully transfered? or magpapanibago po akong registration dun na mismo sa apparently new rdo na pagttransferan ko sana? kelangan ko din po kasi update records ko eh thru 2305.
hope u could shed some light here.. thanks.
hi,
the address of RDO43A is not in the BIR Website just like some other sub-offices. Is it the same with RDO43 located at: BIR Bldg., Pasig City Hall Complex, Caruncho Ave., Brgy. Malinao, Pasig City
Raiyuto
I’m getting really confused with this. Iam told that there are 2 BIR Offices in Pasig. One in The City Hall (rdo 43-b)and the other one is on a new building located at Ugong (rdo 43-a). Which is which? My concern is where exactly can i find RDO 43-A and how do i get there.
Posted by Skyla at June 22, 2010, 6:56 pmi am also among those confused with this A and B stuff especially with their addresses. only one address is on the BIR website and it doesn’t state whether it’s for A or B. i hope sir birtaxinfo can answer this for us.
Posted by raiyuto at June 23, 2010, 6:50 amHello Skyla,
Yes, “usually” it takes 2 to 3 days kaya po nakadepende po ito sa workload ng particular district office.
ITS - Integrated Tax System.
On the location of RDO 43A. Just click the “LOCATIONAL MAP” link on the left side of this blog under informative links. Browse down to Region 7 where RDO 43A is under. Theres a map there for you to find this office easily.
If your coming from Makati side going thru C5 once you cross the bridge going to Bagong Ilog Pasig. You’ll come across a Petron Station and after that is the Mitsubishi Motors showroom beside it is the BIR RDO 43A. This is clearly shown in the map. Good day.

Posted by taxpayer at June 30, 2010, 2:14 pmHi Diane, magdownload muna kayo ng 1902 form.

Tawag po kayo sa IR TIN Verification Office at 926-8339 this is their updated number or the BIR Contact center at 981-8888.

Posted by TSR at July 7, 2010, 12:44 amhi! i just want to verify kung anong documetns ang kelangan para makakuha ng tin. you said kelangan ng nso birth certificate and barangay clearance. kelangan po ba original copy yung birth cert? pano pag walang barangay clearance, pde po ba nbi clearance? (ipapakita lang po ba ito, or they’ll keep it for documentation). thank you!
Posted by joyceee at July 7, 2010, 7:22 pmHi Joyceee,

m applying on behalf of a foreigner for Alien Employment Permit via DOLE at confusing ang sinasabi na kailangan applyan ng TIN. Sa NGO po sya mag work at in actuality walang babayaran ang NGO dito since shouldered ng foreign partner namin ang kanyang salary. transportation here lang ang sagot namin. ANong klaseng TIN ba mag-apply? Hindi rin namin alam papaano yun since wala nga siyang income coming from here.
Hi Mia, I believe there is a Republic Act requiring TIN for all government transactions. This is why DOLE is requiring a TIN for the said foreigner.
You can go to the Revenue District Office (RDO) of the BIR who has jurisdiction over your NGO’s business address. You can apply for the TIN of the said foreigner.
The BIR has a Tax Assistance Counter who can help you out to get the TIN for the said foreigner.
With regards to taxes imposed on foreigners working here yet his income or salary is being paid from a business entity abroad. Or derives income from abroad. You can call the International Tax Affairs Division of the BIR at 981-7000 locals 7342 / 7340 / 7341 / 7339 or direct line 926-5729 look for Orson.
Should you have any other concerns just post it here. Thank you and good day.

I am a fresh graduate and I would like to get a tin. But I am still unemployed. So I will use 1904? and the requirements are xerox copies of birthcert and barangay clearance.
Question:
what will i check under the “TAX TYPES”
Thanks
Posted by adsmashers at July 14, 2010, 7:06 pmHi Adsmashers,
TIN thru this form is for a particular transaction only. Yes you can get a TIN. But once you are employed. You will still need to update the TIN using the BIR form 1902 to indicate your EMPLOYER.
I would suggest that you get a TIN when you have an employer thats going to hire you. So just apply and when you have a company thats open to hire you. You can give the 1902 after filling out your portion to your employer.
The 1902 has a portion to be filled by the employer. After which, You will submit this to the RDO where your employer’s TIN is currently registered. That RDO or Revenue District Office of the BIR will be the one to give you your TIN.
Posted by birtaxinfo at July 15, 2010, 4:30 pmHi Sir,
I am thankful to have found this site in search for answers to a couple of questions:
1. Is it true that one can file an exemption in the filing of annual income tax return if the contract of work does not reach at least a year? say, contract good for 10 months or so?
2. I work for our family (composed of me, my mother and a minor sibling) because of the death of my father. Can I file for an exemption as head of the family although I am single? If so, what are the procedures and requirements?
Thanks much.
Posted by JR at July 15, 2010, 8:31 pmHi JR,
1. No, I don’t think it’s true or accurate to think so. Since there is no regulation that I know of that supports this. A friend mine is under contract with a government agency exactly for 10 months but she still files her ITR. Like business contractors who usually depend on income from their contracts with their clients whether for only 3 months. Should declare the income he/she earned from that job. and pay the corresponding taxes unless there is a ruling you got from the BIR’s Law Division which grants such an exemption.
For example, there is a law granting VAT exemptions for religious organization or tax breaks. Now, an individual registered a church thru SEC it doesn’t follow that since he has registered that church can apply the tax breaks indicated in our laws. He should first get a ruling from the Law Division of the BIR to be able to enjoy that tax breaks under our laws. The tax breaks given to certain organizations are closely monitored by the BIR so as not to be abused.
2. Under the RR 10-2008 page 23 “Individual taxpayers regardless of status are entitled to P50,000.00 personal exemption”. And it also says in this page letter (b) to be entitled for additional 25K exemption “…addtitional exemption of 25,000 for each DEPENDENT CHILD”
So under this new ruling you are entitled to 50K personal exemptions. The previous rule for single is 20K while the head of the family gets 25K personal exemption.
Compare the previous your personal exemptions is now higher or double courtesy of RA 9504. Implemented thru the BIRs RR 10-2008.
To avail of this personal exemption, you need to register with the BIR for your TIN. If have a TIN registered under your name then you can apply this exemption in your ITR or Income Tax Return.

Posted by betsy at July 18, 2010, 11:01 pmHi Betsy,
New job applicants or those who are applying for their first jobs are required by employers to have TIN. Most if not all don’t have a TIN yet.
If you are a job applicant and the employer has made their INTENTION to hire you. Your employer is required by BIR to sign the EMPLOYER’S PORTION of the BIR 1902 form.
The employer should indicate the company TIN and the BIR Revenue District code where this employer is currently registered.
This is where the employee will be going to request for his/her TIN. Yes, you will be going to the BIR Revenue District office (RDO) where your employer’s TIN is also registered.
If your going to use BIR form 1904. The RDO where you will be going is the RDO who has jurisdiction over your barangay or your home address.
For 1901, if your planning to register as a professional. Please be aware that you will be considered as a business entity where you will be dispensing your own OFFICIAL RECEIPTS as a PRACTICING PROFESSIONAL. If you will be registering as a PRACTICING PROFESSIONAL under the BIR, you are telling BIR you are NOT into any EMPLOYEE OR EMPLOYER relationship. You have a business of your own which you are the boss. Thus, you will be filing your own income tax returns. This is what it means to be PRACTICING PROFESSIONAL for the BIR.
Based on what you said, once you are accepted as a resident physician your an employee of the said hospital I believe. So you should use the BIR form 1902. You might want to read this article:

Regarding issuance of TIN Card, do we still need to attach authorization letter from the company? Ang alam ko po sa iba hindi na nag-re-require ng letter, bakit sa Ugong humihingi? and sana iniinform nila ahead of time, let’s say upon application ng TIN number. para hindi na pabalik-balik. Such a waste of time and energy din, most especially if you need to excuse from work.
Salamat po.
Posted by ishi at July 20, 2010, 11:02 amWould just like to ask if form 1902 is only for NEW application of TIN number? How come in the description of the form in the BIR website, it says, “This form is to be accomplished by an old or new employee whether resident citizen or non-resident citizens earning purely compensation income.” My query is actually based on the BIR RR#10-2008 section 4, stating that employers should require their employees to accomplish form 1902. or old na itong rule na to? thanks in advance.
Posted by qtkng at July 20, 2010, 1:26 pmHi Ishi,
No, you don’t need to attach authorization letter. There is no mention of such in the ruling below on Issuance of TIN Card.
ftp://ftp.bir.gov.ph/webadmin1/pdf/51752RR%205-2010%20ON%20TRANSFER%20OF%20REGISTRATION.pdf
Mention to the personnel pertaining this ruling. Talk with the TSS head there if I am correct its Oliver Rios. If this is an official policy then demand to be given a copy of it. Because the Revenue Regulation mentioned above has not yet been changed, revoked or superseded.
It says once you have a TIN assigned or verified under your name. You are qualified to get a TIN card. No AUTHORIZATION LETTER is mentioned. Because the said TIN is NOT UNDER your EMPLOYER’s name. It is your’s.
May I know when this happened? and do you remember the personnel who told you this?
Posted by birtaxinfo at July 20, 2010, 3:57 pmHi Qtkng,
First, we can only have one TIN. We are not allowed to apply for another one.
Ok, for applicants with no TIN yet…the 1902 is the form you use to apply for a TIN provided you have an employer.
Now there are people whose TINs are placed in the OLD database of the BIR. mainly because it was not updated or was found to be inactive in someway.
To activate and be placed in the ITS database, the 1902 is the form to be used, of course you need to indicate your TIN so that the encoder will not mistake your application for a new applicant for TIN. And the employer information portion of the said form should be filled out by his/her employer. To be submitted to the Revenue District Office (RDO) where the said employer is registered and filing their tax.
So RR10-2008, is the Implementing Rules & Regulation of the RA 9504. It increased the personal exemptions of employees. To avail of the said increase employees new and old are required to update their registration to comply to this ruling. And employees with no TIN should apply for a TIN. This rule is still in effect. Unless otherwise revoked by a new ruling.
Should you have any other concerns regarding this just post it here. Thank you and good day.

Good day,

You have mentioned before,in another entry, about form 1905.so if inactive yung TIN,then ibang RDO siya with his new employer, then fill up 1905 din?
So paano po yung mga new employees na meron ng TIN,would the employer still require them to fill up 1902 or 2305 na lang? let us say, wala namang changes sa kanyang status except new employer lang. what if new employer na,then may mga changes din sa kanyang status, like married or with kids na?
Again, thanks if advance!
Hi Qtkng,
Thru BIR TIN Verification ofc. 926-8339 this is their updated number or the BIR Contact center at 981-8888.
If the TIN is in the OLD database you can update this with any RDO I believe. So if you plan to work in area which is not under the jurisdiction of the RDO where you first got your TIN. You can use the 1902 form. Indicating your TIN and all the pertinent info required by said form. And the Employer Information portion of that form should be FILLED OUT by your current employer. And you can submit this with the RDO where your current employer is filing their taxes.
You can use 1905 for transfer to another RDO if the condition is that your TIN is in the ITS database na or is active in the said database. But if TIN is in the OLD database then you should use the 1902. And like I said you can submit it direct to the RDO of your current employer.
Unlike the 1905 you have to submit it to the RDO where your TIN is currently registered. Again, IF the condition is that your TIN is active in the ITS database.
For new employees who have TINs already they can file for update using 2305 like if they got married or had a child. Attached would be marriage cert. if they got married. and birth cert. of the child if they had a child.
Again if the condition is that the your TIN is already in the ITS database. Then you don’t need to update anything. Now if you got married, then you need to update using 2305 attachment is the marriage cert. Submit it to the RDO where your TIN is currently registered.
Posted by birtaxinfo at July 21, 2010, 2:47 pmHello Chris18,

So that you can have an idea on problems arising on this registration. As can see, people who thought that once they got their TIN have found they have “Open Cases” which they need to settle.
We are only allowed to register one TIN under our name. We are not allowed to have multiple TINs. You will be penalized once the BIR finds out. So I advice not to do it. You have an existing TIN.

Posted by Ishim Joseph Palaganas at August 2, 2010, 5:25 pmHi Melai, you call the Withholding Tax Division of the National Office to ask for their assistance. If you have time to visit the BIR National Office, the said division is in the second floor. The Revenue Officers there can help you out. I don’t have the directory with me. I am doing this on my own time. Just recently our office has block this blogsite. Our office does not support this means of technology yet. For whatever reasons, i really do not know yet. But it is with my hope that they will someday. Anyway, try to contact this office thru 981-7000 ask the operator to patch to the said office.
Posted by birtaxinfo at August 4, 2010, 10:33 pmHello Ishim,
You will need to fill out the BIR form 2305, attach the birth certificate of your son. Submit this to the BIR Revenue District office (RDO) where your TIN is currently registered.
If you do not know this you can ask the TIN Verification office which RDO you TIN is registered.
I really don’t know if the RDO will require you for this DSWD certificate. The RDO may ask you to execute an Affidavit duly notarized, attesting that your son is in your custody or care. If the said DSWD Certificate, certify’s this, well that may be accepted as well.

I already gave all the details and signed a form for TIN application. Recently i just found out i still don’t have a tin number but my employer has been deducting me for more than a year already. Where does it go and how can i confirm if i have a TIN number already? thank you!
Posted by shel at August 5, 2010, 12:16 pmHello Shel,
You can check if you have TIN under your name thru the TIN verification office or BIRCC. Their numbers is mentioned in the article above. Kindly look it up.
I don’t know why your HR would say that. Once an application for a TIN number is submitted to the RDO using the BIR form 1902. It usually takes 3 days more or less.
You should file the application yourself. Your HR might not have the manpower to file the application for you. 6 months? really? thats very disappointing to hear. Those unqualified statements is unfair and should not be considered to be accurate. Its simply untrue Shel.
Even if you do not have a TIN, employers are required to withheld tax from compensation of their employees. Likewise they are also required to give a certificate of taxes withheld from your compensation thru BIR form 2316. The said certificate is attested by the employer not the BIR.
If you have only one employer for the entire taxable year. Example for this year 2010. At the end of this year before April 15, 2011 deadline the employer is required to give the 2316 cert. to their employees and this will serve as the ITR of that employee. Even if you don’t file it or have it stamped by the BIR. It is a valid ITR.
Posted by birtaxinfo at August 6, 2010, 12:23 amHello birtaxinfo.
I’m have a problem with my TIN. I worked in a company that’s registered with the RDO 039. When they hired me, they asked for a photocopy of my original birth certificate. They also asked me to fill up some BIR registration forms so that they can process my TIN. Now, I need to transfer my TIN to the RDO 031, because I have a new employer. I called the BIR hotline and game them my full name and birthday, but they did not find a match. I went to the RDO 039 just to be sure, but, to unfortunately, the officer there told me that I’m not registered yet. Afterwards, I went back to the office of my previous employer and they gave me a BIR Form 2316. It says on the document that my TIN is “TIN in Prc, RDO Code 000″, so I went back to the RDO 039 and I was told that I really don’t have a TIN yet. I was advised to go directly to the RDO 031, bring a photocopy of my original birth certificate and fill up the BIR Form 1902. But before going to there, I tried applying for one on the website of BIR, but it would not push through. It kept saying “Please visit BIR for TIN application.” So, following the instructions of the BIR officer, I went to the RDO 031. Unfortunately, the officer there told me that they are no longer online, that they can only process a certain number of registrations per day, and that I should come back early in the morning.
Alright, I have a few questions. Can I apply a TIN at the RDO 031 directly? Are there any other requirements for the application aside from the photocopy of my original birth certificate? Will the tax witheld by my previous company be automatically registered with my TIN and be transfered to the national treasury, or do I need submit some forms first to accomplish that? Lastly, do I really need to do all this early in the morning, because I’m only free from 3PM onwards?
If there are things that I’m doing wrong or if I’m missing some steps, please give me a heads up. Thank you very much. By the way, this webpage is very informative, keep up the good work!
Posted by Koi at August 18, 2010, 6:12 pmHi Koi,
The eREG system for TIN applications are for EMPLOYERs; Government Agencies and Instrumentalities (GAIs) and other offices who have applied for access in the said systems.
Other than that if you are an individual who does NOT INTEND to be UNDER an EMPLOYER in short SELF EMPLOYED who wish to practice their PROFESSION. Then you can go thru the process of online application.
Be aware that once you go thru this you are telling BIR you are registering a business. And requires you to pay 500 registration.
Once registered you are required to pay and file taxes corresponding to your profession. Failure to do this will create an automatic log of open cases of taxes you have not filed.
That is why you got a message you mentioned above. Yes, you can apply directly to RDO 31 because as you said you verified by there was no TIN under your name.
Only the photocopy of your birth certificate is required unless you have a dependent child which you wish to inform BIR for additional exemption then you need to attached the birth cert of that child. Or if you are married then you need to attached the marriage cert.
The taxes withheld by your previous office should be contained in the BIR 2316 certificate which your previous employer should give to you once you have formally resigned and gone thru the necessary clearance from the said office. Or you can request for this. It is the employer who will be attesting to the taxes withheld by them not the BIR.
For your information the TIN is not like an SSS number or a Bank account number. Which you might think that all taxes withheld is deposited in the TIN number account as some would think. This is not so.
Even if you do not have a TIN an employer is required to withheld tax from their employees compensation even if the employee has no TIN.
We are under the substituted filing policy of the BIR. It is the employer who withhelds taxes and they are the ones who will file and remit these taxes to the BIR every month.
The employers are thus required to give the BIR form 2316 certificate to their employees at the end of a taxable year or in the event that their employee should resign and found another employer.
For that new employer would likely ask for the 2316 given by the previous employer.
I am not aware of the policy being implemented in the said RDO. But it is a simple application for TIN. Once submitted you can go back or call them up if they have already assigned a TIN under your name.
Anyway, get the name of the person who will attend to you. Once you submit your TIN application get a receive copy. So make a duplicate or triplicate of the 1902 application. Submit your application and let me know. Should you have any other concerns just post it here. Thanks also for visiting. Good day.
Posted by birtaxinfo at August 20, 2010, 12:30 pmMay question po ako, kakatanggap ko lang ng job offer from a local company at hinihingi nila ang TIN ko. Mag-aapply pa lang po ako for a TIN.
Posted by Nikhole at September 1, 2010, 9:04 ami already have a tin before in cotabato under my maiden name. I am now working here in pagadian under the surname of my husband. we dont have a marriage certificate as pur marriage was solemnized under muslim law.what shall i do? can i ask for another tin using the surname of my husband?if my old tin will be transferred, it was using my maiden name. if they will ask for a marriage cert, i have none.
Posted by birtaxinfo at September 3, 2010, 3:06 pmHi Max, I am a bit confused. What document then proves you are married under Muslim Law, if you do not register the said marriage with our government?
Do you have any document under Muslim Law that states you are married?
Registration of marriages in our government is a needed requirement. So as not to create any confusion should a question arise on the said union.
No, you don’t need to ask for another TIN using your husband surname as you will still be required to produce a marriage certificate or legal document that proves you are married.
Marriages conducted by any religion are usually internally documented within their religious organization and afterwards they register the said marriage with our government. So that in the eyes of our government, they can determine who is married to whom.
So Based on that registration, our government can determine & produce a legal document as proof of this marriage status for people to use in certain transactions that may arise in the future.
Like in your case, you need some form of legal document that will attest to your marriage. As of now you can transfer your TIN but it will remain under your maiden name. Until we can find a legal document aside from a marriage certificate.
Posted by birtaxinfo at September 3, 2010, 3:38 pmHi po.. Im just confused kasi I was asked to transfer my RDO from 50 to 47. When I went to the branch, they said they cant find my TIN. and they cant even find a TIN under my name, I have clarified this with my previous employer and they gave me a copy of my 1902. Its just confusing, paano nangyaring may copy sila at ang BIR wala?

Posted by lamrim arcanum at September 7, 2010, 11:33 amHi Dawn, try to verify this thru the TIN Verification office. I had the same problem with the TIN of my brother. Here’s their number.
BIR TIN Verification Office at 926-8339 this is their updated number or the BIR Contact center at 981-8888. the BIRCC can also help.
Posted by birtaxinfo at September 8, 2010, 1:07 pmHi Lamrin,
Based on what you said po Online Researcher po kayo and you have an employer which is in Australia.
Sometimes its confusing if you say that you have an employer yet you do not have any document from the said office that they certify you as their employee.
After which the job stops once the project was finished.
Ang company sa Australia is your client. So dapat nga po 1901 po gagamitin ninyo.
At since nabangit ninyo nakarehistro na kayo bilang SELF EMPLOYED. Base po sa sinabi ninyo tama po ang registration ninyo as SELF EMPLOYED ang 1904 is for ONE TIME TINE TRANSACTION use para sa mga students, housewife na nangangailangan ng TIN para sa isang particular na GOVERNMENT TRANSACTION.
As you said HOME BASED REASEARCHER po kayo.
At may registration fee po sa ganun which is 500 pesos for Annual registration fee.
Ano po ba ang ibig sabihin ng onetime tax payer and person registering under EO 98 (securing a tin to transact with government office)
Posted by birtaxinfo at September 9, 2010, 9:09 pmI just want to clarify if there is truth to what I have been hearing that if you have been withheld for less than a year say 6 mos contract earning above minimmum say 11k a month..how much will I get as a tax refund? As some say that I should get the full withheld amount for 6 mos since I did not reach a year of employment…is that true? Or is there an accurate way to compute for tax refund?
Thanks and God bless!
Posted by Anonymous_6 at September 11, 2010, 10:57 pmHello Anonymous_6,
No, that information is inaccurate. Refund is based on an excess of tax withheld from your pay.
If the taxes withheld by your employer is greater than the tax due. Then a refund is in order for that excess.
Even if an employee was just able to stay for a month,
refund by the BIR is based on the excess on actual tax that should be withheld against the actual tax due.
So you ask “As some say that I should get the full withheld amount for 6 mos since I did not reach a year of employment…is that true?”
No, its not.
You can call the Withholding Tax Division of the BIR regarding this matter so you can be better informed. There numbers are 926-9351/926-9647.
Posted by birtaxinfo at September 13, 2010, 11:24 pmhi.. good evening..
I’d like to ask about applying for a TIN. I’m still a student and currently having a part time job as an online tutor. I’ve been an online tutor for more than a year and a half now and hadn’t paid taxes until recently, the company that pays me required me to apply for a TIN since according to the BIR, as independent contractors, we still have to pay taxes. So now, I went to the nearest BIR office and told them about my situation. They gave me form 1901 to accomplish and required me to submit a DTI permit as well. And then, when I attended the briefing/seminar about paying taxes, I realized that I’m actually applying for a business permit, hence, as a business owner, I will be subjected to other taxes and maybe an annual BIR audit. I got scared of course, since there are other requirements that I have to submit, and a possibility that I might commit violations since I’m not really a business owner. So I’m asking about the process on how I can apply for a TIN as a part-timer and what the requirements would be.
Thank you.
Posted by Ariane at September 16, 2010, 7:52 pmAriane again here..
I read your reply to Lamrin. So basically, we have the same nature of job. Which means that I have to accomplish form 1901. On the TAXPAYER TYPE, can I mark the box for PROFESSIONAL even though I don’t have a professional’s ID?
Posted by Ariane at September 16, 2010, 8:44 pmno professional’s ID or a license rather..
Posted by Ariane at September 16, 2010, 11:35 pmSorry for being makulit.. But I’m really confused about applying for a TIN. I read the other queries here in your blog as well as your answers. So I guess it’s best that I clarify my situation.
I’m an online tutor, an independent contractor. The company that hires me needs to withhold 2% of the wages of all their independent contractors according to BIR. Of course, this means that they will deduct 2% from our wage every month. Then, the company will supply us with BIR Form 2307 representing our total earnings for each quarter and the total amount withheld and remitted. This in turn, will be submitted by us, the independent contractors to BIR together with our ITR.
So now, how can I apply for a TIN as an independent contractor? What will be the process? If I would register myself as a self-employed, do I really have to produce Official Receipts and book of accounts? When in fact, the company already withheld taxes from my salary.
Another query.. A friend of mine has his TIN already which he got when he applied for a driver’s license. He has the same job as mine. Does he need to register himself as a self-employed as well so he can submit the BIR form 2307 or pay taxes?
Thank you very much.. I’m sorry, I’ve been asking about this in RDO 67, but the people there are not polite enough to give me clear answers. I went there like 5 times already, but still, wala nangyayari.. Hope you can clarify things to me.
Posted by Ariane at September 17, 2010, 3:44 amHi Ariane, Let me address this question raised on registration as a Professional you asked: “can I mark the box for PROFESSIONAL even though I don’t have a professional’s ID? no professional’s ID or a license rather”
Yes, you can register as a Professional even without a PRC tye ID that lawyers, nurses, or engineers have. Like Lamrin who is a online researcher as we all know this is not regulated by the PRC yet as a profession. But on the BIR side if you practice a specific talent and is being paid for that talent then you can register with the BIR as a PROFESSIONAL. Or to put it simply your earning a living from practicing a certain field whether it is regulated by the PRC or not the point is your making a living out of this talent.
You seem to have a certain apprehension in your first post on your registration. You said:
“when I attended the briefing/seminar about paying taxes, I realized that I’m actually applying for a business permit, hence, as a business owner, I will be subjected to other taxes and maybe an annual BIR audit. I got scared of course, since there are other requirements that I have to submit, and a possibility that I might commit violations since I’m not really a business owner”
As a registered Professional in the BIR, you are considered to be a business owner or an entrepreneur. You have a company that provides a certain service required by people and other companies. You do not actually have an employer. The companies or people that hire your services is better defined as your clients or customers who hire you for your services. Your not being given wage’s for your work. Your service demands for a certain fee to be paid. Or you charge a certain fee for your services.
The taxes that will be imposed on your business will be limited to the scope of your business registration. If you don’t have an employee then you’re not going to be required to file for withholding taxes for employees since you don’t have one yet.
If you are not a VAT Registered Taxpayer then your not allowed to impose or withhold 12% VAT on your business transactions and be required to file and pay this to the BIR.
The taxes that you will be required to pay and file are based on your registration. Learn from the BIRs orientation on the taxes pertaining to your business. Know how to file, when to file and where to file it. That is if you are decided in pursuing this type of business. But if not, then this would all depend if the company that hired you will not require you to issue an official receipt. Anyway, I will discuss further this type of scenario later on.
On the possibility on committing violations, knowing one’s responsibilities will help you avoid this concern. You stated that “I’m an online tutor, an independent contractor”. That is your business. This is why you are in fact a business owner. So the standard reply to you by the BIR RDO is to register as a self employed individual as a PROFESSIONAL.
That is why the company that hired you is required by BIR to withheld the 2% from your service fee.
You said below :
“the company will supply us with BIR Form 2307 representing our total earnings for each quarter and the total amount withheld and remitted. This in turn, will be submitted by us, the independent contractors to BIR together with our ITR. So now, how can I apply for a TIN as an independent contractor? What will be the process?
The standard on this process would be for you to register with DTI usually there is a satellite office in the local municipal government office. A business permit. Photocopies of these are the required attachment to the BIR 1901 form for self-employed individuals. A Certificate of Registration should be given to you. Just ask when this will be released. And of course you need to pay the 500 pesos Annual Registration fee for your business. After which please note that the Annual Registration fee is paid every year before the end of January of the following year.
Your next question states: “If I would register myself as a self-employed, do I really have to produce Official Receipts and book of accounts? When in fact, the company already withheld taxes from my salary.”
Well, that is the idea. Most business are required by their clients to issue an official receipt which makes your business legit or legal. It is a fact that the company that hired your services withheld 2% from the agreed service fee that they paid you. Did they not require you to issue them a receipt?
This does not encompass your entire Income Tax that is due to the BIR. The 2% amount deducted from your service fee and certified thru the BIR certificate 2307 issued by your client serves as proof on the said deduction. Your client will report and remit 2% to the BIR. Which actually serves as proof of your clients transaction with you as their INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR. This is one of the paper trails pointing to the transaction between you and your client.
Likewise when you file your ITR to the BIR, the amount deducted from you by your client can be deducted from the Total Tax Due in your ITR. Example, the total service fee is 10K so the 2% is around 200 pesos. If your Tax Due is 500 pesos. Instead of paying that full amount you can deduct the 200 pesos from the Tax Due which was already withheld & remitted by your client. The proof of that is the BIR 2307 issued by your client. So when you pay & file your ITR you need to attach a copy of the 2307.
To avoid any confusion I prefer not use the term “salary” as this may imply that there is an EMPLOYEE and EMPLOYER relationship between you and client. That would be inaccurate. Again let me refer to what you said earlier “I’m an online tutor, an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR”. So your not exactly an employee.
For your other query you said:
“Another query.. A friend of mine has his TIN already which he got when he applied for a driver’s license. He has the same job as mine. Does he need to register himself as a self-employed as well so he can submit the BIR form 2307 or pay taxes?”
Well, that depends on his clients. Most of the people who has these type of talents usually don’t ask these question until they are confronted by a client that would require them to issue an official receipt. Prior to that they go on doing what they do.
So its really up to him if he is looking to the future of his business he needs to legitimize his business. In someway this would help him with his future clients. And he can offer his services to a lot more companies. Again should he embark on this, we have to remember being legitimate entails additional responsibilities to your regular activities. That is knowing what taxes to file and settle with the BIR.
Another question you might think of is what if for the current month we do not have any business transaction. Would you still file when there is nothing to report yet? The answer is yes, you need to file. I am not sure of the term if its NO TRANSACTION OR NO OPERATION indicated in the BIR Tax form which you are required to file. Of course you need not pay anything because of the fact that you have no transaction for that particular month.
What will happen if you should not file on the said month were you had no business transaction. You will be penalized for non filing. Anyway, this should be covered with a proper orientation once you decide to register your business.
Now the scenario I would like to discuss with you is that of an acquaintance of a friend of mine who was hired by the DOST not as an employee but as an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR working on an IT project that somehow ran for more than two years now and still going.
They were withheld the 10% and issued the 2307. I am not that sure how she got her TIN though.
Kindly read the last 3 paragraphs of this article I wrote before and it also provides a link to a tax guide for professionals:
Let me share this also. Professional basketball players, athletes, and actors and actresses are not required for a DTI permit or business permit, on work permits though I am not sure if they are required by the LGUs. When they register with the BIR the documentary requirements for the 1901 is their contract. This is why even child actors or actresses can get a TIN with the BIR thru this policy.
Anyway, if you have any other concerns do let me know. I hope this info helps you out on your decisions.

To Arianne of RDO 67:
Hi again, allow me to update you on concerns you raised before. I made few calls and research on the registration process.
And I found that their are RDOs that apply different approaches on registration for professionals and contractual’s or should I say “contractual employees”.
Lets us take those people who are regulated by the PRC. Because for them if they intend to pursue their profession not under any company or institution. Then they are required to register as a PROFESSIONAL.
In your case an ONLINE TUTOR which is not regulated by the PRC yet. I have reason to reconsider your situation as that of a CONTRACTUAL.
The RDO which handles DOST informed me that they treat contractuals as PROFESSIONALs. This is why they require them to register using BIR form 1901 should they require a TIN. But the documentary requirements that they impose is the CONTRACT between said individuals and the company that hired them. And BIRTH CERTIFICATE. Just like those of a PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE, ACTRESS , ACTORS, STAGE PERFORMERS, ETC. But again as PROFESSIONALs under BIRs registration, you can be able to dispense Official Receipts for your services to your clients. Thus, you would also be required to maintain business books of accounts of your transactions.
These individuals conditions are that of people who has certain expertise or know how or skills or talents not regulated by the PRC. Unfortunately it really isn’t that easy now with BIRs frontliners. I was told that their is a grey area here that needs a clear written policy in handling certain areas or service industry not yet identified or clear with the BIR. And this is mainly the IT industry people.
Why? well there are people who have talents who are actually just CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYEES who were hired to work on a project by a company. Contractual in the sense that the company has no intention to hire these people as REGULAR EMPLOYEEs. Likewise the person providing the service has no intention to register as PROFESSIONAL as he/she may be still UNDECIDED to pursue and commit to the requirements as a BIR REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL.
Unlike what i mentioned before which was required by RDO 67 in your case. I believe you should insist not to register as a PROFESSIONAL if you cannot commit to the responsibilities entailed on BIR registration as a PROFESSIONAL.
You may want to treat your situation as like that of a CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYEE. So that RDO 67 will not require you to register as a PROFESSIONAL.
I called up RDO Mandaluyong (Judith) to get some info on the same issue. Surprisingly they have another way of handling the said issue. Not as hard as applying TIN using 1901.
They just require CONTRACTUALs to use BIR Form 1904 for One Time TIN Transaction (ONETT). This type of TIN is marked that way in the BIR database. Indicating it is not yet a REGULAR business or employee TIN but a ONE TIME TIN. Documentary requirement for this is just a Barangay Clearance and photocopy of Birth Certificate .
Should you in the future decide to register as a PROFESSIONAL then you can use the issued TIN and update it thru BIR form 1901. Again the documentary requirement for this will apply.
I hope this update will help you decide. Should you have any other concerns just post it in this blog.
Posted by birtaxinfo at September 24, 2010, 12:59 pmThank you very much.. I appreciate it a lot.. I was just wondering why RDOs have different approaches.. it’s a government office/agency, there should be a specific process for each case.
another concern though,
I got so pissed at a specific employee of RDO 67. My brother is applying for a student’s permit/license, so I accompanied him. I checked the website of LTO about the requirements on how to acquire a student’s permit and the site clearly states that there’s a need for a TIN. So we went to RDO (we didn’t drop by the LTO to save time, I checked their website for the requirements anyway), I got form 1904 for him and told the guy there that he needs a TIN for his student’s permit. And the he told us that my brother doesn’t need a TIN in applying for a student’s permit. They only generate TIN for those applying for Non-Pro or Professional license. So I thought, how stupid of him not to know the uses of TIN these days.
And just with your previous reply, you mentioned that some RDOs have different approaches on handling such cases. I’m just so surprised, I’m so disappointed with government offices again. I’m sorry.
Posted by Ariane at September 24, 2010, 4:56 pmGood evening po. I’m a professional po at currently unemployed. Posted by Julyan at September 24, 2010, 7:19 pmHi Rose, Sa Revenue District Office (RDO) na may hawak sa iyong business address which would be your home address actually. You said you were hired as a consultant.
So your actually a PRACTICING PROFESSIONAL in some way. A self employed individual. Ang gagamitin mo e yung BIR Form 1901, copy ng contract mo at birth certificate. Once registered asked for the schedule of your RDOs orientation on what taxes you need to file and pay, and when.
If i am correct in assuming you do this for a living on a regular basis then you need to register as such. Especially if you are required to issue a receipt.
If not then lets clarify some things. does you contract state something that you were hire for consulting services? and not as a contractual employee?
If you were hired for consulting services then you have to register as PRACTICING PROFESSIONAL or SELF EMPLOYED using 1901 form.
On which BIR RDO to register, Alamin mo lang kung ano barangay mo dahil marami po ang pagkakahati ng QC. South QC, North QC, Novaliches, Cubao etc
If your barangay is under RDO South QC or RDO 39 its located in Quezon Ave. Check the left side of this blog under INFORMATIVE LINKS click BIR LOCATIONAL MAPs

Should you have any other concerns just post it here.
Posted by birtaxinfo at September 27, 2010, 12:21 pmHi Ariane, in behalf of the BIR please accept my apologies for this seemingly irritating problem. There is actually an existing MOA between BIR and LTO you can go to this this link and view this MOA: ftp://ftp.bir.gov.ph/webadmin1/pdf/48013rmc%20no.%2065-2009.pdf
As stated in the MOA, TIN will no longer be required for individuals not engaged in business, such as minors, students, househelpers, housewives, balikbayans and the like, provided that they are securing a non professional driver’s license.
This is why your RDO informed you regarding this. You can print a copy of this MOA so you can show it to the LTO office. I am aware there is a problem in the MOAs implementation especially with the LTO. Who refuses or is unaware about this MOA.
The approaches is rooted mainly on our own understanding on certain terms that we often used. There have been a lot of queries pertaining to PROFESSIONAL. The term is often mistaken as that of the PRCs point of view pertaining to a PROFESSIONAL which of course are individuals who passed their LICENSURE EXAMINATIONs. There have been numerous problems with individuals who registered thru the ONLINE eREG system of the BIR.
The term PROFESSIONAL that the BIR is referring to is not the same with that of the PRC. So like the problem I came up with on a registered Nurse, he/she has a PRC or PROFESSIONAL LICENSE ID. So they usually think that they can register online because they believe the term PROFESSIONAL in the EREG system refers to them. Being a PROFESSIONAL NURSE they registered as a PROFESSIONAL. The usually try to fine the easiest way possible, w/c is understandable but not without consequences especially if you fail to understand the requirements entailed in registering online as a PROFESSIONAL.
Unfortunately, they later find out that those registered as such are actually registering as a SELF-EMPLOYED individual, as a business owner. Only to find out later that they have open cases due to the fact that they are required to file and pay certain taxes as required for a PROFESSIONAL practicing his profession as SELF-EMPLOYED and NOT AS AN EMPLOYEE. And most of the problems I’ve encountered are because of this wrong understanding of the this term.
Again, I can’t blame you for your disappointments. The different approaches I mentioned is mostly based on how a taxpayer communicates his/her concerns and how the personnel understands the info you gave. Remember you mentioned this “’m an online tutor, an independent contractor”. The common understanding and answer to this by BIR is to register as a PROFESSIONAL. The term implies that you are practicing a profession whether it be registered with the PRC is not a problem. The point is that you are earning from that talent or that practice.
But if there is a written contract that states the individual as a CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYEE then to my understanding this people should not be registered as a PROFESSIONAL. Unfortunately, there are a lot of terms which are often misunderstood.
I can only ask to for your patience, in my part I am trying to work with this office to find ways in better communicating that service. There is a lot of room for improvement. But imperfect as we are we will work towards that end.
Hi Julyan, sorry for this late reply. Please note Julyan that the term PROFESSIONAL in the BIR is used for people who are intending to be SELF EMPLOYED or would like to put up a BUSINESS to provide their PROFESSIONAL SERVICES to their clients or customers.
Posted by birtaxinfo at September 30, 2010, 9:20 amhi birtaxinfo, my situation is the same as the other here, i registered using online reg in the bir website. i just passed the prc board exam for mechanical engineers and i just thought that i am already considered as professional when applying for tin. I am currently looking for job now and i thought that having a tin number before i get a job would be better without really knowing the kinds of bir forms for specific tin application. I registered online by considering me as a professional(now i know its wrong) and i already received a confirmation message stating my tin number and requirement to pay for 500 for annual fee. now, i would want to ask the procedures to clear this things to bir. Do i need it to process now? if yes, what kind reason do i need? do i need to file for tin as employee though im still looking for a job and dont have an employer currently?
another question, would it be ok if i pursue my application as professional because im planning to accept design projects from some clients while looking for a job? im just still planning to accept and still dont have projects now. would i still be asked to submit log book for that?
another question, if i successfully registered as professional then a job will be offered to me by an employer later where ill be working fully as an employee, what will i do to my registration as professional? would i still need to pay annual fee though i will stop working as a professional and will pursue the work as an employee? sorry for to many questions, i just got really scared to what ive done. i just thought that applying online would be easier without really knowing my category. thank you in advance.
birtax info, just ignore my previous questions. heres my real and more comprehensive questions, now that i know that it was my mistake that I registered online for my tin by selecting professional tin because i thought that i am under this category having in mind that i am a registered engineer, how will I clear this mess? how will I correct my data so i wont be listed as professional now that im still looking for a job and still dont have an employer? thank you again.

Posted by tsukune at October 2, 2010, 4:19 pmHi Ronny, you should go the BIR Revenue District Office where your TIN is currently registered.
If your not sure which RDO. CAll the TIN Verification ofc. or the BIRCC. Their numbers are indicated in this article.
Ask also the address of that RDO. The RDO has a taxpayer assistance counter. Ask for assistance regarding your concern. So they can take steps to correct your registration and advice you on what to do.
Should you have any other question just post it here.

Posted by birtaxinfo at October 2, 2010, 4:39 pmHi. may tin na ako. government employee ako. Gusto ko i-declare na ako ang head of the family at dependent ang kapatid ko at lola ko since patay na pareho parents ko. pwede po ba yun? anong form ang gagamitin ko?
Posted by marissa at November 23, 2010, 10:04 pmhi sir,
my husband is working full time and filed as head of family: single with 1 dependent child. He filed as single because we got married in california, usa and our marriage certificate is not yet authenticated by the nso. this nov 10, 2010, we will get married. and i will also starting work on dec 1, 2010. this will be my first work in the philippines and i understand that i will need to get my TIN.
1. will my husband need to change his status from “head of the family” to “married”? if so, what form are we supposed to use for the change in status?
2. will he need to update BIR Form 1902 under
part 2 : Spouse information? what form are we suppose to use for the change in spouse information?
3. should my husband remain as “head of the family” while i declare myself as “married”?
4. are there any other qualified dependents that i can claim besides my child since my husband already claimed him. are both my mom and dad qualified as dependents? can i claim them both?
5. are we entitled to claim for additional exemptions/premium deductions for husband and wife whose aggregate family income does not exceed Php250,000 per annum? my husbands gross income is 16000 and mine is 14000.
thank you for your time and help.
regards,
jp
hi Marissa,
BIR form 2305, attached birth certificate of dependents.
Sa bagong ruling ukol dun under RA 9504 po ang head of the family, single or married ay pare-pareho na po ang personal exemption 50K.
The BIR implementing guideline for this RA is Revenue Regulation 10-2008. Under this ruling the term they use is QUALIFIED DEPENDENT CHILD. Anyway, you BIR officer will evaluate your application on the qualification of your dependents. If approve you can have an additional exemption of 25K per dependent.
Posted by birtaxinfo at November 27, 2010, 7:23 pmHi JP, of course you need to get your TIN if don’t have one yet.
1. BIR Form 2305 attached the copy of the marriage contract
2. No, the 2305 also contains a portion for Spouse information.
3. Of course not. Just submit this update thru 2305 to the Revenue District Ofc. Where the TIN of your husband is currently under.
4. The husband usually claims the qualified dependents unless he execute a waiver in your behalf. In Revenue Regulation 10-2008 it states QUALIFIED DEPENDENT CHILD, unless you can show proof that they are dependent on their living from your earnings your parents may not qualified. If your parents are earning a living, they will not qualify as your dependents.
5. Under RA 9504, which was implemented thru RR 10-2008, each of you are given a 50K additional exemption. For your info, whether married, single, or head of the family they are granted 50K thru that law. Compared to the previous exemptions this amount is quite substantial. Previously married were given 32K, single 20K and head of the family 25K. Regardless of the gross income we are extended this personal exemptions thru that law.
Thanks also for visiting this blog. Hope you can visit my other site www.tomtax.blogspot.com. Hope the information helps you out. Should you have any other concerns just post it here or in my other blog. Good day.

Hi Abi, Sorry for this late reply. Currently i am no longer allowed to access my blog at the office so its kinda hard also doing it at home with my kid around.
Anyway, just call BIR TIN Verification Office at 926-8339 this is their updated number or the BIR Contact center at 981-8888.
Just give them your full name and birthdate. They will give you your TIN. And do ask where your TIN is currently registered. or the BIR Revenue District office (RDO) Thats where you need to go should you need to request for a TIN Card. Good day.
Posted by birtaxinfo at December 14, 2010, 9:54 pmHi Cris, its really up to you. Anyway, whether your married or single the personal exemptions is the same for both 50K.
But judging from your problem. You might just go for single.
Anyway, if you have any other concerns. Just post it here. Good day Cris.

Posted by birtaxinfo at December 14, 2010, 10:15 pmHi maricris, currently there is no online facility yet for transfer our TIN to another RDO.
But you can fax your application for transfer using 1905 form. To the Registration Section of your OLD RDO.
If you know your OLD RDO. I can give you the number or fax number of the Registration Section of that RDO

Posted by krizza at January 25, 2011, 12:30 amHi! I wanted to inquire regarding my TIN application.
I worked in a call center company back in 2006, they required me to sign a form for TIN application. However, when I left the company, they did’nt give me a copy or confirmation of my BIR registration.
Then I called your contact center and transfered me to your verification department. I gave him my personal infos to verify my TIN. He said, there’s nothing on the record and requested me to go to my RDO and file an application.
With your website, http://ereg.bir.gov.ph/ereg/welcome.do, I applied on E-reg and filled out the needed information. When I finished with the questionaires, there was a note saying “GO TO BIR FOR TIN APPLICATION”. How will I interpret this? How can I check if i already have a tin number? There was no confirmation sent to my email nor any further instructions. May I request the BIR verification department to check it one more time?
IF there’s no record on the system, I will go to BIR and file it personally. Is it possible to file it in the nearest office/branch from my residence. I checked it on directory that I belong to RDO 25A. Since RDO 25B is closer to me, can I submit my application there?
Lastly, just a clarification and enlightenment coming from the BIR authority

I was an OFW & have already finished my contract. Now I’m reactivating and looking for a suitable posts. However, I’m applying for a driver’s license and I need my TIN badly. Where do I belong, which form shall I use?

Posted by cristine joanna at January 26, 2011, 1:59 pmHi Jhing, eREG is not for employees. Our employers however can access this system once they request it from their RDO. So that those employers can apply for TIN online for their employees.
For individuals like PROFESSIONALs refers to people who are practicing their profession for a FEE. They are not EMPLOYEES but SELF EMPLOYED individuals.
In your case the system identified that you are neither of this. So you cannot access the system therefore you were required to go to a BIR branch office or Revenue District Office (RDO) of the BIR.
Since you do not have a TIN and you have no employer yet. And you need it for applying a driver’s license then you can apply thru BIR form 1904 which will require you to attach photocopy of birth cert. and barangay clearance.
The RDO which has jurisdiction to process that request will be based on the RDO who handles your barangay. Thats where you will file for a TIN. It is not based on how near you are with a certain RDO.
I would suggest to call these offices to check which has jurisdiction over your barangay.
Hope this info helps you out. Good day.

Posted by birtaxinfo at January 27, 2011, 4:19 pmHi Cholo!
Im currently registered in RDO 40 (Cubao) thru form 1904. I got my tin last year to apply for a student permit for driving.
I’m currently employed and my employer is registered in RDO 43A (Pasig).
I need clarification in transfering and updating my tin to a regular tin.
Should I Option A: Go to RDO 40, fill out form 1905 for it to be transfered to RDO 43A and then update it by filling out 2305 in RDO 43A (once it’s transfered already)? Or Option B: Fill out a form 1902 with my tin already indicated and my employer’s tin in RDO 43A after it’s transfered?
Additional questions:
If Option A is the better answer, is it possible that my employer will be the one to submit the form 2305 for me?
Im planning to get a tin card. Can I request for that in RDO 40 or sa RDO 43A na?
Thank you so much! You’re really a big help. This site is really informative.
Posted by fiona at February 1, 2011, 11:21 pmHi Fiona, I am again disappointed with this blog platform. I am sure I have answered your post. But it seems this blog platform has again wasted the post I took time to make.
Anyway, Do option A. Be sure that your employer fills out the portion required for them before submitting to the RDO.
I really cannot answer for your employer. You should ask them if they can submit your 2305 for you. Some employers do if not all can do this for this employees.
Once transferred to RDO 43A and updated. You can then request for a TIN card using again BIR form 1905 Part II check box “K” write down on the box provided “TIN Card”.
Thank you for visiting this site. Again I would like to inform you also of a new blog I made same as this one.
I am planning to post more articles and info materials which you may help you in your transaction with the BIR thru this new blog.
Posted by birtaxinfo at February 7, 2011, 4:13 pmHi, newbie here!
Appreciate it
Follow up ko lang po, this coming Friday na ang passing nun requirements. Thanks again!

Hi…
I am hoping to have a response right away regarding this..
I would just like to know moving forward kung ano ang dapat kong gawin para magkaroon ng TIN. salamat po.
Posted by Gary at February 9, 2011, 9:27 amThanks also Joolyan for visiting.
Posted by birtaxinfo at February 9, 2011, 10:45 amHi Gary,
Attachment is copy of your Birth Cert.

Posted by mylene b. arguelles at March 8, 2011, 8:15 pmHi Mylene B. Arguelles,
Bagamat classified yun TIN ninyo as One Time TIN.
Mawala man o di ninyo maala ang inyong TIN. Maari ninyo pa ring malaman ito thru BIRCC 981-8888.

Im already working in my second job. My first job was in a small local it company based in Taguig. I started out as an intern, then with a few months I was absorbed and became a fully pledge employee. So officialy I worked there for under 4 months, but the thing is, I was never given a TIN number. So when i left the company and transferred to a new it related company in Quezon city, i was told to apply for a new TIN. So i did, and i can guarantee that what i have now is my first and only Tin. My question is, what happens to me when I file for taxes? I was never given a form 2316 when i left my first company? Is there a procedure i should go through so I can do this the right way? Am I in trouble? What exactly do I do? Hope you guys can help me with this problem of mine, its been bugging me for some time now. Thanks in advance.

Posted by kaye at March 23, 2011, 11:52 pmHi Mark, i answered your post in the other blog article where also posted this query.
Posted by birtaxinfo at March 23, 2011, 11:59 pmHi Kaye,
The TIN no. you got is a valid TIN. Only it is under the category as One Time TIN for the purpose of securing your drivers license.
You can update your TIN to a regular TIN by using the BIR form 1902. Just make sure to place the TIN no. you got.
Let your would be employer fill the part of the 1902 for EMPLOYER INFORMATION. and signed by their authorized representative.
Now here comes the tricky part. If your TIN is registered in another RDO of the BIR and the RDO of your future company. You may need to transfer first your TIN to the RDO where your future employer files their taxes.
It usually takes a 2 to 3 days. But once transferred you can proceed in submitting now that 1902 form to your new RDO. The RDO where your company is likewise registered.

So i can only answer in my spare time.
Your paid thru ads in your blog or perhaps been ask to write by a company and got paid as well.

Posted by jhennie at May 21, 2011, 5:27 pmHi Epicurious, again my apoligies for this late reply.
This blog is blocked as usual. The BIR is planning a video seminar DVD format or CD. Or thru web service like You Tube if it will be allowed.
As of now, its really still with the RDO and their sched.
Will inform you on the developments on this matter.
Posted by birtaxinfo at May 24, 2011, 2:50 pmHi Carrie, opo, puwede po yun.
GMA.
Using 1904.
Using 1905.
Salamat po sa inyong pagdalaw.
Posted by birtaxinfo at May 25, 2011, 4:50 pmHi Sir,
Question lang po, meron nakong TIN Number, but recently ko lang po nalaman na yung TIN number daw na ginagamit ko is not under employed member. October 2005 ako nag-apply ng TIN online as suggested nung dati kong employer, but upon verification, I was informed by BIR na yun nga daw po hindi under employed member yung number na ginagamit ko, sinabi rin nila sakin na never naman daw po nagkaroon ng online application para sa mga employee ang BIR. Ano po kaya ang pwede kong gawin regarding this?
Posted by Riza at May 26, 2011, 9:43 amuestion lang po… nag apply po ako ng TIN number nung nasa davao city pa po ako… and now dito na po ako nagwowork sa pasig.. I was told by my fellow officemate na pwedi po daw na magreregister daw ako using the current tin na meron ako by filling up the new application form… possible po ba to… kasi medyo matagal pa kasi ako makakabalik sa davao city at di ko maprocess yung transfer… hope to have a positive feedback..
Posted by Chardy Cantar at May 27, 2011, 10:06 amGood Evening Sir. January of this year nagresign po ako sa company na un. And ngayon nga na I’ll have my new work, my new employer asks for my TIN Form 1902 from my previous employer. Problem is, I don’t have a copy of it.

Posted by chinese tea at June 3, 2011, 11:26 pmQuestion po:
Parang personal TIN, (is there such a thing).
Kasi pag nagaapply tapos nakalagay sa job application form TIN. So kailangan ba meron na ako.
Additional tanong po if you know the answer.
Before applying for a first job, what are the pre-employment requirements that you should get? (sss, etc)
Thank you
thank you po
Using 1902 form.
Pre employment requirements usually are SSS, BIR TIN, 2316 Certificate from previous employer.
Good day po.
At dito kayo dapat mag pasa ng application for TIN.
Good day po.
Posted by birtaxinfo at June 9, 2011, 4:08 pmHi Chardy Cantar, sorry for this late reply, kung ang category ng TIN ninyo is OLD or nasa OLD DATABASE ng BIR.
Kelangan ninyo mag request to transfer.
So do check with the BIR Contact Center ang TIN ninyo kung OLD ba o nasa ITS database na or active ang status ng TIN ninyo.
Should you have any other concerns. Please post it here. Good day.
Posted by birtaxinfo at June 9, 2011, 4:43 pmHi Bhads, my apologies for this very late reply, you said nag update ka using 1902.
Request for a TIN card from your BIR Revenue District office.
That will do as proof that you have a TIN under your name.
Should you have any other concerns just post it here. good day.
Posted by birtaxinfo at June 9, 2011, 4:49 pmmeron na po ako TIN no. Gawa ng Req. sa LTO. ask ko lang po kung pwede ko gamitin un sa Req sa NEw Job ko?
Posted by PEter at June 9, 2011, 9:06 pmHi Peter,
Good day po.
Posted by birtaxinfo at June 16, 2011, 11:42 amHi, I have worked in ADMEREX SOLUTIONS INC last 2009 Leviste St., in Ayala. But before i got hired, they requested me to transfer my tin to which RDO they belong with, and that is in Gil Puyat near Pagibig office. Now, my question is, will i still have to transfer my tin to other RDO since my new company is located in Ayala as well? Can you please tell me if they have the same RDO #? My new company is also a call center–CONVERGY’s nearby Makati Med. Please respond asap.
Posted by virma at June 20, 2011, 7:02 amHi Virma, this is just a personal blog and I do not have access to taxpayer data. you can actually get this info by asking your office.
You can check the RDO of your TIN thru the BIR TIN verification ofc. or the BIR Contact Center. Their contact numbers are indicated in the above article.
You can also know the RDO by knowing what barangay your new office is located. Once you got this info. Go to the BIR Web. Click DIRECTORY and on the left side click Revenue District Office. Scroll down to the Makati RDOs. There are 4.
Click anyone of them and check which RDO handles the barangay where your office is under.
If you have the same RDO with your current office then there’s no need to transfer.
Should you have any other concerns just post it here. Good day.

Hi, Good day!
This site is very informative. I hope you could help me with this one.
I was recently hired in a company (aug. 2011) and the comp. is asking me to submit a BIR 2316 0R ITR from my previous employer. This is actually my third employment.
1. first employment was from june 2008 - october 2008.
2. second employment was from april 2011 - june 2011 (tax exempted due to minimum earnings around 8k monthly)
My question is:
To whom will I ask the 2316 or ITR? My second employer didn’t ask for this one from my first employer when I got hired, I only accomplished BIR 2305.
Thank you in advance. I hope to hear from you soon.

May requirement po sa inyo na magfile on a monthly basis as business ang operation and registration ninyo.
Tuturuan kayo ng officer of the day kung papaano ninyo ito gagwin.
Malamang po kelangan ninyo gumawa ng formal letter on your request to cancel at yun rason ninyo bakit po ipapa cancel o close ang pinarehistro ninyo.

Posted by meeeeyaaaa at September 29, 2011, 6:35 amHi J.Erwin, ayun sa sinabi ninyo nalipat na ninyo from RDO Makati to RDO Cubao.
So dun po kayo pumunta sa RDO Cubao or RDO 40. Use form 1905 in part II check letter “K” and write “TIN Card” in the box provided. submit to said RDO. No doc requirement that I know of.
RDO 40 Map location follow the link below.

Click Region 7 as this also where RDO 40 is holding office.
Posted by birtaxinfo at September 30, 2011, 11:28 amHi lolo37, processing depends on the work load of your RDO. It can be processed within the day I believe if your RDO has not that much work load.
Under the BIRs Citizen Charter it takes 25 minutes under normal circumstances.

Posted by birtaxinfo at September 30, 2011, 11:36 amHello again,
I just want to clarify if this info is accurate. Thanks again!
Posted by chitsume at October 1, 2011, 10:34 amNo, that would be inaccurate. Although there was a MOA between BIR and LTO regarding who will not be required to provide a TIN like students, housewives etc.
But I’ve learned that LTO still requires TIN click the link below on the LTO requirement for Student Permit:

Posted by birtaxinfo at October 5, 2011, 12:20 pmI see. It’s just as I thought. I’ll try filing for TIN using 1904 one more time. Thanks again!

Posted by Mechaelle at October 10, 2011, 4:49 pmGood evening.
This is regarding TIN verification.
In the process of enroling me through e-tin, it is found out by the HR personnel of the company I am working for that BIR has an existing record under my name.
Unfortunately, I have never registered myself since I was expecting my employer to do that. The fact that my employer is enroling me just this morning means that I do not have any TIN yet.
I’ve been trying to contact BIR all day; however, none answered my call.
Please kindly give an immediate feedback on this.
Thank you.
Posted by simmer1989 at October 10, 2011, 8:16 pmHi Mechaella, is your Taiwanese manager intending to put up a business office in the Philippines?
Or is he employed likewise in a philippine owned company?
Kindly clarify. Thank you.
Posted by birtaxinfo at October 13, 2011, 1:02 pmHi simmer 1989, are you saying that the numbers of the BIR Contact Center and TIN Verification ofc is unreachable?
If you employer has an access to the TIN registration system of the BIR then your employer can easily VERIFY if you have a TIN or not.
You said that in the process of enrolling in the eTIN you stated “it is found out by the HR personnel of the company I am working for that BIR has an existing record under my name”
You first statement seems to contradict your second statement. You have an existing record with BIR under your name.
You second statement tells of another story. Your employer is enrolling you.
I thought your HR found “that BIR has an existing record under my name”
Kindly clarify your statement please.
Posted by birtaxinfo at October 13, 2011, 1:10 pmGood day.
The number is reachable but no one is answering.
Under what is stated in the e-reg FAQs, there is no way for my employer to know the EXACT TIN that I may have. It only says in the directed page after inputting the basic taxpayer information that I have an existing TIN and to please contact BIR.
I am not asking about the status; I am asking on what to do to know my EXACT TIN. Isn’t that the purpose of TIN verification? To let local employees know their EXACT TIN and not to just inform them if they have or not.
My employer is enroling me precisely because, in my knowledge, I don’t have any TIN yet. Upon enroling me, it came to MY and THEIR knowledge that I have one.
The fact that the my statements are in contradiction is the reason why I am asking you about this.
Sorry if my statements seem to be hard to comprehend by you.

Posted by yayie at October 13, 2011, 8:01 pmano po yung nature ng cases that will be filed against you if you were registered as a professional but you failed to file any return? you mentioned of “open cases ” kse. if you were registered as professional but did not pursue the same (but you failed to cancel your registration) since you got employed in the government and was withheld taxes, ano po yung liability ninyo? tnx..
Posted by margaret at October 17, 2011, 4:53 pmHi Simmer1989, sorry for his very late reply.
There is no TIN verification online yet with the BIR web. The eREG is mainly for purposes of registration.
So if you employer has access to the eREG then they can enroll you if you still do not have one. But it seems you have.
well, there may not be any contradiction but simply you might have been enrolled or have registered for a TIN with BIR.
Anyway, the next logical thing to be sure about this is to verify with the BIR Contact Center or TIN Verification office. Your name maybe the same as others. So your birthdate and address will accurately pinpoint if that TIN and name is really yours.
So have it verified it really is yours. Should you have any other concerns just post it here or in my other blog www.tomtax.blogspot.com.
I am having a bit of problem with this platform.
Thank you and good day.
Posted by birtaxinfo at October 26, 2011, 1:04 pmHi Yayie, No, there is no electronic data on our 2316.
It is given and attested by our EMPLOYERs not BIR. That is why in substituted filing policy the EMPLOYERs are required to give this 2316 certificate to their employees to which they are likewise required to attest the said cert.
Anyway, should you have other concerns just post it here good day.
Posted by birtaxinfo at October 26, 2011, 1:07 pmHi Margaret, if you failed to file a return. You will have an OPEN CASE each time you fail to comply.
If you failed to close or update your registration from professional to employee. The BIR system will generate a report every time you fail to fil.
So you will have open cases recorded under your registration. And be subjected to penalties under our tax laws.
The issue is not with your current employment as the government ofc. you are under regularly deducts tax from you and are required to file it with BIR.
The issue is you failed to close or update your registration to which you will be penalize for every open cases for failure to file required returns imposed on your registration.
I suggest you visit your RDO so you can get info on how you can close and how you can settle penalties you incurred. Know the amount of penalty and ask for assistance or help with the Revenue District Officer or the head of that office if the penalties can be lessened.
Should you have any other concerns just po it here. Good day.
Hi Derek, well you can file your application for TIN using 1902 even though the business address of your employer remains with the old address and original RDO handling that business address.
So you can pass this application together with a photocopy of your birth cert. submit to the original RDO of your office.
You can later transfer that TIN once you get a new employer.
Should you have any other concerns just post it here or better post it in my other blog www.tomtax.blogspot.com.

Posted by RH at November 15, 2011, 11:22 pmgud day po, i have a new job, and they gave me a 1902 form, but i already have a TIN no., i had may files transferred from my previous RDO to the current RDO of my new employer, i was told it will be a 5 day process
should i accomplish my 1902 form and pass, it or should i pass the 1905 only, or both of them
and lastly the HR mentioned some kind of stamp that they require on the 1902 form they gave to me, i have no idea on that stamp, is it beacause they gave me the form that looks like photo copy and already with the signatory of our boss, whats the purpose of that stamp, tnx in advance
Posted by sor at November 16, 2011, 12:20 pmHi Arceni,
If you already have TIN.
Should you have any other concerns just post it in my other blog www.tomtax.blogspot.com.
Posted by birtaxinfo at November 22, 2011, 2:02 pmHi RH,
So magAPPLY muna po kayo muna.
Posted by birtaxinfo at November 22, 2011, 2:09 pmHi Sor,
You already have a TIN. Since you already transferred your TIN using 1905.
Give a copy to your new employer.
Don’t fill that 1902 form. If you have that stamped BIR will take it as if you do not have a TIN and you’ll end up having multiple TIN.
You will be penalized for having multiple TIN. So don’t go that way.
Use 2305 form. This is the update to which your new employer will have a portion to sign. And will be submitted to the RDO or BIR branch of your employer and where you transferred your TIN.
This will notify BIR that you are with that company.
For future queries and other info on dealings with BIR just post and visit my other blog.
Posted by birtaxinfo at November 22, 2011, 2:27 pmHi again Sor, The stamp is the received stamp of BIR. Again don’t use the 1902 as this is the application for TIN.
You already have one so you don’t to have that form stamped by BIR. You will end up having multiple TINs.
Use 2305 form thats used for employer update also as well as additional dependents.

Just want to ask, my agency requires me to have a TIN and we’re asking me to have a TIN because it is a requirement in the POEA forms. However, i was hired because of my volunteer and training experience in hospitals, by the way im a nurse, and was never employed so I dont have a TIN yet. Can i apply for a TIN? thanks. Looking forward for your fast response.
Posted by mariz at December 17, 2011, 9:03 pmYes Mariz, you can apply for a TIN.
Your agency or its authorized representative will fill out the EMPLOYER portion of the BIR Form 1902.

Posted by birtaxinfo at January 26, 2012, 10:04 amHello po birtaxinfo.
You may have answered these questions already pero sobrang haba na po nitong post mahirap na po basahin lahat
, but please answer these:
I need TIN to open a bank account. Unemployed po ako
1. Form 1904 po ba ang para sa akin?
2. Tax Payer type ko is “One-Time Taxpayer” o “EO 98″ ?
3. Magkano po kaya ang babayaran?
4. Can I also get an ID at the same time or do I have to wait ng days/weeks? And may bayad po ba for the ID?
5. Once I have TIN does it mean obliged na ako to file an ITR taon-taon kahit jobless ako?
Maraming salamat po, God bless!
Posted by Noel at February 1, 2012, 11:11 amHello po birtaxinfo,
I hope you can help me sir/mam.

I THINK THESE TWO OFFICERS ARE IGNORANT OF BIR LAWS THUS WHY THEY ARE BEING ALLOWED TO ASSIGN IN THEIR POSITION IF THEY ARE NOT FAMILIAR OF THIS SIMPLE LAW. CALLING THE ATTENTION OF DIRECTOR ATTY TABULE WHO I BELIEVED THE SAME LEVEL OF IQ, ISNT IT? I AM HOPING THE NEW COMMISSIONER TAN TORRES LOOK INTO THIS….
