VAT on Toll Fees Takes Effect on April 1, 2010

Effective April 1, 2010,  the imposition on VAT on Toll Fees will take effect initially for Private Vehicles. VAT on toll fees from other transportation vehicles shall be implemented subsequently.  (more…)

Amusement Tax not VAT for Night & Day Clubs and Cabarets

The proprietors, lessees or operators of cabarets, night or day clubs are  subject to BIR’s 18% amusement tax and not to the 12% VAT on gross receipts.   (more…)

Property Developers Happy Days are Over

Happy days for property Developers are over. March 8, 2010, CIR Commssioner Joel L. Tan-Torres signed the unnumbered Revenue Memorandum Circular declaring BIR Ruling DA–245-2005 dated June 7, 2005, null and void.
