The BIR has released the implementing rules and regulation (IRR) on the Senior Citizens Act of 2010. You can get a copy of this IRR by following or just click the link here.
This will hopefully clarify certain issues with regards to how this privilege can be applied. The scope which it covers and does not cover. So establishment can give the privilege our senior citizens are entitled to.
The said privileges is for the exclusive use of the senior citizens only. And not for his or her companions. As such transactions with senior citizens will be treated seperately from his or her companions who are not in the said category.
It would be wise to read the said IRR carefully to fully understand the what can and what can’t be done.
